Application to Re-designate Hyde Park Paddington Neighbourhood Forum
We have made an application to Westminster City Council to re-designate the Hyde Park and Paddington Neighbourhood Forum.
The Hyde Park and Paddington Neighbourhood Forum was originally designated by Westminster City Council on 9 June 2017, following a Cabinet Member report of 24 May 2017. Designations last for five years.
Our application to re-designate the Forum was submitted to Westminster’s neighbourhood planning team on 31 March 2022 and included a statement on how the Neighbourhood Forum has been established for the purpose of promoting or improving the social, economic and environmental well-being of the Neighbourhood Area, evidence of at least 21 members who live in the area, work or do business in the area or are elected members for the area, a map of the Neighbourhood Area and our written constitution.
Westminster Council will check that our application is valid and meets the criteria above and then consult on our application, publishing it for at least six weeks and inviting comments from people who live and work in the area, plus neighbouring representative bodies.
In making its decision to re-designate the Forum, the City Council will take into account how widely membership is drawn across the area and different sections of the community and how the purpose of the Forum reflects the character of the area.
The Council’s decision will be published online and we will make it available on our downloads pages.
Once a Neighbourhood Forum is designated no other organisation or body may be designated for that Neighbourhood Area until that designation expires or is withdrawn.
Neighbourhood planning officers notified us that they were unable to start the statutory consultation process until after the local elections on 5 May 2022.

The City Council commenced consultation on our re-designation on 13 May 2022. You can read the official notice here.
Comments on our application should be emailed to the City Council’s neighbourhood planning team by 5pm on Friday 24 June 2022 or posted by the same deadline to:
Neighbourhood Planning, Policy and Projects, 17th Floor, Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London Sw1E 6QP
The deadline to comment is 5pm on Friday 24 June 2022.
