East-West Cycle Superhighway

Construction is planned to start in November 2015 on the new East-West Cycle Superhighway – work should be completed during Summer next year. All three of the partner organisations of Hyde Park Paddington have been involved in the lengthy consultations on the route – representing the interests of residents and businesses to bring about the greatest benefit for the least disruption.

The latest revisions to the scheme in our area notably include the installation of a new signalised pedestrian crossing to the North-West corner of the public garden at Sussex Gardens. This is something we have been campaigning for as it will make accessing the gardens much easier and safer. We have also started discussions with Westminster City Council regarding possible improvements to the garden entrance to make it more attractive and accessible.
